Verna Mae Caviness Shackelford, 87, of Georgetown, KY, passed away Monday, (07-02-2018).
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, (07-14-2018) with the family receiving friends one hour prior to service (1 to 2 p.m.) at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home in Sanford. Burial will follow at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Verna was born in Sanford, the daughter of the late William Herman and Myrtle Cole Caviness. She was also preceded in death by her sister Ruth Cole and brothers Earl and Ray Caviness.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, Raymond L. Shackleford, Sr., she is survived by her children, Raymond L. Shackelford Jr., Poquoson, VA, Vickie Fraley, Georgetown and Terri Hill, Lanexa, VA; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
