Van Johnson Buie, 69, of Broadway, died Sunday, (11-18-2018) at his home.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, (11-21-2018) at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston and Rev. Scott Yow officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
He was born in Lee County to the late Johnson and Flossie Harrington Buie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carmen Buie Collins. Van retired from NC Farm Bureau. He was a life-long member of Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Van was also a member of Masonic Buffalo Lodge #142 having previously served as a Past Master.
Van is survived by his wife, Janice Tart Buie; daughter, Kelly Buie Jones of Sanford; brothers, Dougal Buie of Broadway, Larry Harrington of Clinton; sisters, Glenda Buie Taylor and Sue Buie, both of Broadway; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
