Ken Loy Beal, 85, of Siler City passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at his home in Bonlee, N.C.

Mr. Beal was born June 3, 1935, a Chatham County native and the son of Joe John and Florence Hilliard Beal.

Loy was an Army Veteran, and a member of Bonlee Baptist Church. He spent his working years as an upholsterer at Boling and Selig, he also worked for Golden Poultry. Ken loved people, he had a great sense of humor and he loved to dance. You could find him going out to eat at Johnson’s or strolling around Walmart. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brothers; Forest, Vernie, Byrd and Glen “Dock” Beal; sisters, Gola Beal Hammer, Violet Beal Yow, Josie Beal Pickard, Gertie Beal Headen; and agranddaughter, Caroline Hunter.

He is survived by his son, Kim Michael Beal and wife Candace D. Beal of Siler City; sister, Fay Beal Brogan of Goldston; brother, Joseph Freeman Beal of Roy, Washington; grandchildren, Brandon J. Beal, Brittany Beal Cheek and husband Cody, and great grandchildren, Caeson and Callen Cheek; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Ralph Phillips and Buck Gaines.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Hope Cemetery, Al Davis Rd., Bonlee, with Rev. Bob Lovett officiating.
