Juanita Wilson Clegg, 91, passed away at Spring Arbor Senior Living in Apex, NC, Friday, July 6, 2018.
A native of Chatham County, Juanita was born August 18, 1926 to the late Naomi J. Wilson and Mary Lawrence Wilson.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, David Bynum Clegg, brothers, Leon Wilson, Cecil Wilson and Roscoe Wilson.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Marlene Clegg, Cary; niece, Linda Wilson, Cary; nephew,  Larry Wilson, Kansas City, KS; sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Griffin, Pittsboro; brother-in-law, Lynn (Rose) Clegg, Moncure, and special friends, Tim, Sharon, Mark and Melissa Clapp.
Juanita was a faithful lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where she was the church pianist for 50 years and, along with her husband Bynum, willingly served the church whenever there was a need.  Juanita was a friend to the elderly and shut-ins, whom she visited frequently, always armed with the latest news and good food to share.
Juanita treasured her home life with family, loved her neighbors, and enjoyed trips to the mountains or beach.  She and Bynum cultivated many enduring friendships through square dancing and many other social events.  And as Bynum always said, “Juanita never met a stranger.”
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 12 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 724 Beaver Creek Road, Apex, NC 27502. Rev. Patrick Jones will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held one hour before the service.    Friends may visit with the family in the church fellowship hall after the service.
The family is grateful for all the love and support shown to Bynum and Juanita during their declining years, especially Tony, Linda and Jason Stephenson, the staff at Spring Arbor Assisted Living, Apex, NC and special friend and caregiver, Janella Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
