JOHN THOMAS “TOMMY” VONCANNON

John Thomas “Tommy” Voncannon, 56, of 947 Dunedin, Florida, formerly of Siler City, died Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Florida.
Tommy was born August 15, 1962 in Chatham County, NC, the son of William Jenkins and Dorothy (Ferguson) Voncannon.  He attended Special Education Class at Chatham Middle School and went to Chatham Trades to develop special skills.
Tommy attended Siler City First United Methodist Church.  He fondly remembered finding his first girlfriend, listening to Rock-N-Roll music and he was a creative artist.  He also enjoyed drawing, writing, collecting wrestler figurines and basketball souvenirs.  He made sport shirts for Carolina, Duke, and Florida for basketball and football.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jean Phillips and Linda Swartout.
He is survived by one sister, Anne Voncannon and husband David of Dunedin, FL; two brothers, William “Billy” J. Voncannon, Jr. of Siler City, NC, Greg Voncannon and wife Pam of Dandridge, TN; and several nieces and nephews in both North Carolina and Florida.
A graveside service was held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Carl Belcher officiating.
