Thurman O. Shelton, 86, passed away Monday, (08-06-2018), at his home.
A visitation was held Wednesday, (08-08-2018), from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, (08-09-2018) at Beulah Baptist Church with grandson, Evangelist Travis Shelton and Reverend Dr. Curtis Barbery presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Thurman was born March 6, 1932, in Randolph County to the late Clarence Otis and Clara Powers Shelton. He was a foreman with Golden Poultry, and a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; his wife, Betty Grace Garner Shelton; three grandchildren, Christine, Christa, and Christopher McNeill.
Survivors include wife of 16 years, Royalene S. Shelton of the home; children, Donald Shelton, Clara McNeill, Catherine Shelton, Tommy Shelton, David Shelton and Jeremy Shelton, all of Bennett, Tammy Matthews, Victor Moore, both of High Falls; sister, Elizabeth Acqulin of Asheboro; 17 grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
