PITTSBORO — The Pittsboro Board of Commissioners focused on administrative directives at the board’s meeting on Monday.

The board decided to have three alternatives in the bidding process for the proposed $18 million town hall project which include options for no generator, a partial building generator and a full building generator. The estimated difference for a partial building generator is $100,000 for one floor of coverage or $200,000 for two floors. The estimated cost for a full building generator is $240,000.

The board approved the annexation for one of the last parcels in Chatham Forest. The property, located on Ramsey Lane, is over three acres in size and is only allowed one home, according to zoning restrictions.

The board also approved an agreement with the N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources to continue to participate in the Upper Cape Fear River Basin Association which gives permission for the association to continue to do water sample testings by a third party.

In addition, the board discussed options for recruitment of a permanent town manager. The board decided it would like to interview two different companies to assist in the process — Smither & Associates of Chapel Hill, which assisted the town during the search for the former town manager, and Developmental Associates of Chapel Hill.
