Mrs. Mary Emma Edwards Braxton, 91, of Chapel Hill, died Thursday, (08-02-2018) at her home.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday, (08-06-2018) at Orange Chapel U.M.C. with the Rev. Corey Oliver and Rev. Carl Belcher officiating. She was laid to rest in the church mausoleum.
A native of Orange County, she was a daughter of the late Alberta Lashley and McKinley George Edwards. She served 40 years as a supervisor over the laundry facility at UNC. She was a member of Orange Chapel U.M.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Baxton and her parents.
Survivors include sons, Larry Braxton and George Braxton; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
