Mrs. Dorothy Mae Barber, 93, of Carthage, died on Friday, (08-17-2018) at Tara Plantation.
A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. on Monday, (08-202-018) at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage with Rev. Bob Yandel presiding.
Dorothy was born in Forsyth County, in 1925, daughter of the late William Gilmore and Stella Davis Barker. She worked for Moore County Schools and the Sheriff’s Department as a cook. She was a member of Glendon Independent Christian Church.She was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, son Paul Flynn Barber and her husband of 70 years, James Laverne Barber.
She is survived by two sisters one brother, two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
