David Herman Jones Sr., 79, of Cary, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, at the Transitions Life Care Hospice Home in Raleigh.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Born November 6, 1941, in Chatham County, Dave was the son of the late Clarence D. and Letis Hope (Caviness) Jones. A graduate of Jordan-Matthews High School in Siler City, Dave’s career began at Western Electric. He furthered his education at Wake Forest University, Ringling School of Art in Pennsylvania, and then later, N.C. State University. He had several surgeries at Baptist Hospital to straighten his left leg and enable him to walk without crutches, working with surgeons to design a new surgical procedure.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois (Atkinson) Jones; sons, David Jones Jr., of Apex, Michael Wayne Jones of the home in Cary; and a sister, Carolyn (Jones) Stinson of Siler City.
