Christopher Clark Poe, age 31, of Raleigh, passed away Tuesday morning, August 28, 2018 at UNC Hospitals.
Christopher was born in Durham County, North
Carolina on December 16, 1986 to Floyd Clark Poe and Ellen Gotsch Poe.
Chris is also survived by his fiancé Erica Damler of Brownsburg, Indiana, his brother Logan Poe and Logan’s fiancé Lauren Boening of Chapel Hill.
He is also survived by his cousin Kaitlyn Poe Wolf, her husband Patrick Wolf, and their children Evan James, Luke William, and Harper Grace Wolf.  He is survived by uncles Jeff Poe, Tim Poe, Michael Gotsch; aunts Jennifer Poe, Cathy Gotsch, Lee Poe, and Kathryn Poe; cousins Jeffrey, Elliot, Forrest, Quinn, Hannah, Noah, and Emma; and maternal grandmother Barbara Gotsch.
He is also survived by Erica’s mother and father, Elaine and Rob Damler; her sister Adrianne Damler and fiancé Trent Wagoner, and her sister Mary Katherine (Damler) Arterbery and her husband and son, Matthew Arterbery and MatthewArterbery II.
Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Oswald Louis Gotsch and paternal grandparents James A. Poe and Jacqueline Clark Poe.
Christopher graduated from NC State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and was an avid Wolfpack fan.  He enjoyed playing golf and tennis, watching sports, and spending time with Erica, his friends and family, and his dog Clarence.
A funeral service was held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. at The Windsor Place, 884 Windsor Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516 with Pastor Cory Oliver, Pastor Carl Belcher, and Pastor Jeanne Neal presiding. A graveside service followed in the Orange Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
