Charlene Govan Isreal, 68, of Siler City died Wednesday, (07-04-2018) at UNC Hospice in Pittsboro.
The family received friends Wednesday (07-11-2018) from 10 to 11 a.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 11 a.m. in Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor C. A. Bryant officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Isreal was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 12, 1950, the daughter of Robert Felix and Alfreida (Bowman) Govan. Charlene was a homemaker and a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Creedmoor. She was preceded in death by a son, Jamaine Lewis Isreal and grandson, Joseph Woods.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James L. Isreal; daughter, Juanita M. Isreal; son, Cristen Isreal, all of Siler City; sisters, Marian Govan of Siler City, Cynthia Goodwin of Columbia, SC, Ife Watson and Clara Jean Bacon, both of New York and Sylvia Singleton; brother, Robert Govan of New York; three grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
