Carlie McLean Sloan, 95, of Broadway, died Friday (08-24-2018) at his home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, (08-27-2018) at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.
He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Garland and Blanch Lett Sloan. He was also preceded in death by brothers John, Fred and Frank Sloan, sister, Nettie Bell Gardner Sloan, and wife, Lucille Autry Sloan. Carlie was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving is his son Herby of Hoffman; daughters, Jackie Patterson Smith of Sanford, Patsy Patterson Erwin of Kinston; sister, Evaline Sloan Thomas of Sanford; three grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
