Walter “Walt” Lee Kirkman, 85, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2019, at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church with Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp officiating. Burial followed in Randolph Memorial Park.
Walt was a native of Randolph County and attended Ramseur School. He was a self-employed brick mason, and attended Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Evelyn Lednum Kirkman, and brothers, Earl Kirkman, Rayford Kirkman, and Arthur “Ed” Kirkman.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda “Pennie” Hinson Kirkman, of the home; daughter, April Fisher of Randleman; sons, Phillip W. Kirkman of Franklinville, Kenneth W. Kirkman of Staley, Allen W. Kirkman, of Franklinville; brother, Odell Kirkman of Ramseur; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
