Vera Jean Mashburn Beal, 87, of Siler City died Sunday, October 28, 2018.
Mrs. Beal was born July 4, 1931 in Star, NC the daughter of Matthew and Lillie Oldham Mashburn.
She was a faithful member of Bonlee Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class #3. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. In her later years she held various jobs as child care provider and a housekeeper in motel and food service industries. Her favorite hobbies included adult coloring books, crossword and word search puzzles, family outings or traveling anywhere her family would take her. Reading her Bible and watching church services on T.V. was a favorite pastime.
Mrs. Beal was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Herman Tommy Beal, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by daughters: Kathy Foushee of Siler City, Vera Hawthorne of White Lake, and Gloria B. Butry of Fayetteville; son, Mark Beal and wife Wanda of Asheboro; special niece, Sue Selfe; sister, Shirley Smith of Wilmington; brother, David Mashburn of FL; grandchildren, Eugene Foushee and wife Leigh of Raleigh, Timothy Foushee and wife Katie of Sanford, Kevin  Foushee of Knightdale, Kelly Whitehead Watson and Kaye Perry of Siler City, Herman and Anthony Whitehead, both of Ramseur, Jason Beal, Halie Seagroves, Jade York, Brandy Willis, Daniel Beal, Rachel Lawson, Renee Kinney, and David Beal; 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC; and other times at the home of Kathy Foushee, 851 Gilmore Lodge Road, Siler City.
The funeral will be Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Bonlee Baptist Church, 25 Al Davis Road, Bear Creek, NC 27207 with Rev. Darrell Williams officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Bonlee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smith and Buckner Funeral Home.
