Tina Renee Smith, 47, of Siler City died Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Chatham Hospital.
Mrs. Smith was born in Lee County on November 30, 1972 the daughter of Lee and Flida (Burke) Smith. She was a faithful Walmart employee for 20 years, where she was “mother hen” to her coworkers, everyone went to Tina with a question or concern.
Tina had a beloved pet, Abbie. Tina loved Abbie like her second child. You could always find Abbie curled up in Tina’s lap in their recliner every night watching HULU. She loved collecting things, Christmas, spending time with family, doing arts and crafts and traveling with Rylee.
Tina had a heart of gold and many friends that held a special place in her heart. We can’t begin to name her friends for fear of leaving one out. But you can believe if you knew Tina, you were counted among her friends. She will be missed by all, especially her beloved Rylee and Abbie.
She is survived by one daughter, Rylee Paige Sheffield; mother, Flida Burke Smith and her fiancé, Randy; her father, Lee Smith and wife Candace; one brother, Joey Smith and fiancée Andrea; grandmother, Virginia Woody Smith; and a host of other close family and friends.
The funeral was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 3631 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City with Rev. Jason Dickerson and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. The family received friends Saturday, January 4, 2020 following the funeral service. Burial was in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a college fund for Rylee, c/o Fidelity Bank, P O Box 564, Siler City, NC 27344.
