THURMAN “Bo” HART WALTERS

Thurman “Bo” Hart Walters, 76, of Elmer Moore Road, Siler City died Saturday, November 3, 2018.
Mr. Walters was born in Alamance County on February 9, 1942 the son of Garland Russell and Mary Kate Hart Walters.  Bo was a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church and had owned and operated a dairy farm before going to work with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 143, Bonlee.  Bo was an avid UNC Basketball fan, enjoyed NASCAR and working on old cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby W. Porch and a brother, Johnny Walters.
Bo is survived by his wife: Jean (Phillips) Walters; step-daughter, Jennifer G. Perry (David) of Clemmons; step-son, Jeffrey A. Griffin (Becky) of Siler City; brother, Jackie D. Walters (Janet) of Siler City; sister, Janice W. Scott (Ronald) of Bear Creek; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City.  The funeral followed Wednesday at 2:00p.m. in the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Garner and Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating.  Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.
