He brings a leadership ethic and professionalism that I know greatly benefit this agency and our community.”

Town officials said the hiring decision was made after a rigorous hiring process which included a community forum and interviews by a panel of experts.

“I am deeply humbled and honored for the opportunity to be part of the Siler City Police Department,” Wagner said in a statement. “I appreciate the confidence that Town Manager Bryan Thompson has in me and I want to continue to build on the success of those dedicated professionals who have come before me in the service of their community.
