Roy Truman Patterson, 93, passed away Saturday, (11-17-2018) at Westfield Rehab. Center.
The funeral service was held in the Holly Springs Church on Tuesday, (11-20-2018), at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Parson and Rev. Scott Yow officiating. Burial followed in church cemetery.
He was born in Harnett County on July 16, 1925, to the late Duncan James and Nannie Womack Patterson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Swannie Dawkins Patterson, two brothers and four sisters. Roy served his country during WW II as a US Army CPL in the Philippines and the occupational forces of Japan.
Surviving relatives include his sons, Edwin Patterson of Sanford, Phil Patterson of Broadway; daughters, Joan Fowler of Sanford, Susan Wells and Robin McIntyre, both of Pinehurst; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and one step-greatgrandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church, 275 Holly Springs Church Road, Broadway, NC 27505.
