Ronald Lee “Bobcat” Garner, 74, of Siler City, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

Mr. Garner was born in Chatham County on February 6, 1947, the son of Eugene and Thelma Maness Garner. “Bobcat” was a retired truck driver with Gold Kist. He enjoyed farming and excavating, western movies and traditional country music. He loved spending time working, going to the café, sharing time and produce with family and friends, and he never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Bonnie Michael Garner; daughters, Ann Perez (Tommy) of Randleman, Tina G. Brower (Stephen), Karen Henley (Erik), both of Asheboro and Ashley Garner of the home; son, Aaron Garner (Lauren Zarzar) of State College, Pennsylvania; sisters, Helen Allen (Jerry) of Eagle Springs, Penny Britt (Charles) and Jenny Talbert (Johnny) both of Seagrove; grandchildren, Morgan, Lucas, Karsyn, Annalice, Gabriel and Jonah.

Mr. Garner laid in repose Saturday, May 1, 2021, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Rives Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Tripp Foltz and Rev. Wesley Thomas officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
