Robert Wayne Marshall, 88, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at his home.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was born in Surry County on February 10, 1932, to the late Robert Lincoln Marshall and Lettie May Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ernestine Marsh. Mr. Marshall worked for many years at Martin-Marietta.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Taylor Marshall; son, Robert Scott Marshall of Sanford; daughters, Dawn Gilliam of Sanford, Sandra Pridgen of Holly Springs; sisters, Betty Marshall of Virginia, Joyce Green of Pinehurst, Geraldine Wall of Carthage; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
