PITTSBORO — “Hot Chocolate,” “Apple Pie” and “Chicken Noodle Soup.”

Those are just some of the names for the one- and two-story home plans prospective buyers can choose from when Chatham Park and Fresh Paint by Garman Homes begin the first sales of homes in the development on March 19.

The houses will range from 828 to 1,397 square feet in size and will be part of a group of homes called “The Cottages.” Starting in the low $200,000 range, according to a Chatham Park press release, purchase appointments for the homes will be available via invitation only on a first-come first-served basis.

“We’re building to deliver an experience-rich, simplistic lifestyle,” Rebecca McAdoo, division president of Fresh Paint by Garman Homes, said in a March 3 news release. “More and more people are purging their clutter and desiring spaces that are artfully designed to the way they want to live. The Cottages will celebrate this lifestyle choice.”

Each of the homes will be within walking distance of historic downtown Pittsboro and across the street from a 10-acre town park and a new Thales Academy campus. The school, a private institution, will begin K-3 education in July 2021 and add additional grades each year. Online applications will be available this August, according to a Jan. 7 post on the school’s Facebook page.

“The Triangle marketplace has never seen a home product like this,” McAdoo said. “We are proud to be working with Preston Development Company on the Chatham Park project and believe that this up and coming community is the perfect place to showcase our new offering.”

Chatham Park first announced the partnership with Fresh Paint by Garman Homes in December 2019, with Preston Development Company owner and Chatham Park developer Tim Smith saying the neighborhood will “cater to niche lifestyle groups, such as minimalist living and artist studios, in order to create a community energized by an expansive diversity of perspectives and talents.”

The announcement comes a month after Chatham Park announced it would be constructing the 10-acre park to be donated to the Town of Pittsboro located in the Vineyard neighborhood off of Thompson Street.

“The creation of the first park in Chatham Park is an investment in the Town that will benefit future generations for years to come,” Chuck Smith, vice president of planning for Preston Development, said in a February 3 news release. “Once complete, this park will be open and accessible to all local citizens providing an important recreational amenity for the community.”

Both the park and the Cottages homes are expected to be complete by late fall 2020. To receive an invitation for a purchase appointment, interested parties will need to add their names to The Fresh Paint by Garman mailing list at freshpaintbygarman.com/communities/pittsboro/chatham-park.
