PITTSBORO — N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper visited Chatham County last Thursday, attending a Democratic Party event in Pittsboro at the invitation of Rep. Robert Reives II. Cooper, shown speaking with some attendees at the event, helped honor county volunteers and donors. ‘Our officer team is deeply indebted to Robert Reives’ campaign for making our event so incredibly successful,’ said Liz Guinan, who’s stepping down from the local party’s chairperson position. ‘Robert’s generous spirit is on display to all of us in Chatham County, as witnessed by his devotion to bringing manufacturing jobs to Chatham, his work in addressing Pittsboro’s water issues, his cooperation in negotiating a state budget, and a host of issues he fights for every day. Robert consistently works to improve lives in Chatham County, regardless of party affiliation. We cannot thank him enough.’ Cooper, Reives. Sen. Natalie Murdock and others spoke at the event, held at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center.
