RAMSEUR — Everyone is invited to attend a full day of fun events to take place on Saturday, July 6 at I. Fletcher Craven Stadium in Ramseur when the Old North State Baseball League will sponsor a free youth baseball camp for kids in the community that morning, followed by a Scout Day in the early afternoon preceding a Home Run Derby prior to the league’s All-Star game that evening.

The free baseball camps are open to both boys and girls, with a session for 8 & under scheduled to run from 9 to 10:30 a.m., while the camp for 9-12 year olds will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The camps will be conducted by current college players in the Old North State League along with current and former pro players. For more information you are invited to check out the website at www.oldnorthstateleague.com.

At 1 p.m. there will be an Old North State League Scout Day, where professional scouts and college coaches will watch the college players perform a pro-style workout.

At 4 p.m. there will be a Home Run Derby featuring players from the Old North State League competing for the title of Home Run champ, and at 7 p.m. the League will hold its All-Star game.

While there is no charge to attend the youth camps or the Scout Day, the price for admission to the Home Run Derby and the All-Star game is just $4 for adults and $2 for kids 6-12, with the admission good for both of those events.
