Margaret “Peggy” Jean MacLeod Smith, 87, of Pittsboro, died Monday, (06-11-2018) at Laurels of Chatham. There are no services planned at this time. Peggy was born in Springfield, MA on September 28, 1930 to the late Roderick and Gertrude Kilb MacLeod. She was also preceded in death by a brother Richard MacLeod. Surviving relatives include her husband Ernest “Ernie” Smith; daughter, Bonnie J. Ross of Pittsboro; son Bruce E. Smith of Brookline, NH; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
