SILER CITY — The Iron Hand Hapkido School in Siler City announced that Ariana Rivera and Hal Lindley are the latest at the local school to earn black belts under the guidance of instructor Larry Mabe.

Rivera says the training taught here a great deal.

“The training has helped me understand that you don’t back away from a challenge and you stick with a goal until it is achieved,” said Rivera. “It is an accomplishment that was not only physically but emotionally challenging.”

Mabe said Ariana was a pleasure to work with.

“Ariana is dedicated to the art of Hapkido,” he said. “She has a good attitude and works well with other students.”

Lindley also says the experience has taught him many things.

“The training required focus, concentration and physical endurance,” Lindley said. “I learned a great deal about self control and discipline.”

As with Rivera, Mabe had great things to say about Lindley.

“I enjoyed working with Hal, and I’m proud of him and how hard he has worked,” said Mabe.

The Iron Hand Hapkido School had produced numerous black belts through the years and is located at 223 East Raleigh Stree in Siler City. To contact the school about the classes which run every Tuesday and Thursday night from 7 to 8:30 pm, contact Mabe at 919-548-3182.
