Leonard Shawn McNeill, 44, of Sanford, passed away on Friday, (06-08-2018) at his home.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, (06-12-2018) at 11 a.m. at Buffalo Presbyterian Church with Rev. George Walton officiating.
He was born in Wake County on February 28, 1974 to Clarence Buddy and Darlene Holt McNeill. He owned and operated M&M Typing Service. He spent 18 years as pitching coach at Lee County High School and coached many years at Western Harnett High School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by step-son, Wayne Moore of Broadway; step-daughter, Savannah Moore; sister, Angela McNeill Deck of Sanford; maternal grandmother, Inez Holt; and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, consider contributions to the Friends of Shawn McNeill Fund. Contributions can made at any FirstBank location. The money raised will be used for baseball scholarships for area Lee and Harnett County youth.
