June Jessup Dixon, 88, of Siler City died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at UNC Hospitals.
Mrs. Dixon was born in Chatham County on June 25, 1929 the daughter of Levi Martin and Doasha (Tilley) Jessup. June was a member of Oakley Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and was retired from Collins & Aikman.  June was a lady with a wide variety of skills and interest.  She had received a certification in Early Childhood Development and operated a day care center.  She had also achieved a Black Belt in Karate and was a Certified Nursing Assistant working for Liberty Home Care and Hospice.  June helped deliver Meals on Wheels, enjoyed running, bird watching, and working in her vegetable and flower gardens
June was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Dixon; son, Steve Dixon; her parents; sisters, Bessie Brewer and Eva Ward; brothers, Boyd, Howard, Lester, Marvin and Levi, Jr. Jessup.
She is survived by one son, Lee Dixon and wife Betty of Siler City; five sisters, Mary Creason of Siler City, Inez Brown of Bear Creek, Rachel Johnson of Siler City, Laura Hauser of Walkertown and Linda Sink of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Rex Jessup of Siler City and Richard Jessup of NJ; daughter-in-law, Donna Dixon of Siler City; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Oakley Baptist Church Cemetery, 2300 Siler City-Glendon Road, Siler City with Rev. Womack Keck officiating.
The family received friends Monday following the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
