Jack Allred, 90, of Siler City died Monday, December 30, 2019.

Mr. Allred was born in Chatham County on October 1, 1929 the son of Jesse B. and Eva (Clark) Allred. Jack was a veteran of the US Army, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and serving in the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam War. Jack was a member of the Siler City Lodge #403 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons. Jack was raised as a Master Mason at Hiram Lodge # 0819, Ludwigsburg Germany, while serving in the US Army. He received a 50 years Continuous Membership Award and served in every position of leadership in Siler City Lodge #403, including Worshipful Master of the Lodge. Jack served several positions as Grand Lodge officer as follows: served as Certified Lecturer in 31st Masonic District for many years, served as District Deputy Grand Master of 31st District, served as District Deputy Grand Lecturer of the 31st Masonic District for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #81.

He attended Bonlee Baptist Church and had been employed by A. J. Schneierson and Sons. His free time was filled with golf, crossword puzzles and watching Jordan-Matthews Football.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Jesse Clark Allred (Jerry), George Henry Allred (Marie), Annie Rue Allred (D. G. Fox), Harold H. Allred (Rachel), Frances Allred Disharoon (Bob), and Robert “Bobby” Allred (Carol).

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, JoAnn Paschal Allred; three daughters, Linda Cooper of Wilmington, Kathy Cockman of Siler City and Donna Chapin and husband Tommy of Pinehurst; grandchildren, Caitlin and Wes Cockman, Michael Cooper, and Meghan Phillips.

The family received friends Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Bonlee Baptist Church. The funeral followed Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bonlee Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Williams, Rev. Robert Lovette and Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Bonlee with military rites and Masonic rites.
