IMO TETER DARK

Imo Teter Dark, 100, of Siler City died Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Coventry House of Siler City.
Mrs. Dark was born in Randolph County on April 15, 1918 the daughter of Philip A. and Velna (Lowe) Teter.  Imo was a member, a Sunday School Teacher and the matriarch of Hickory Mountain Baptist Church and her family. She retired from Kellwood Manufacturing after 20 years of service and had been a sales clerk with Moore’s Department Store for several years.  Imo enjoyed working in her yard, gardening and needlework.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Morton Mead Dark, Sr; son, Mickey Teter and her parents.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Monroe and husband Tommy Foyil of High Point; two sons, Morton Mead Dark, Jr. of Siler City, Thomas Philip Dark and wife Jane Keeney of Siler City; grandchildren, Heather Monroe, Jennifer Melton, Meredith Dark; great-grandchildren, Tripp and Kelsie Idol, Sydney Monroe, Waylon Melton; and daughter-in-law, Helen Teter of Liberty.
A graveside service was held Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Hickory Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, 1094 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City with Rev. Val Chadwick officiating.
