GLADYS TAYLOR GOLDSMITH

Gladys Taylor Goldsmith passed from this earth Friday, October 26th, 2018.
Gladys was born September 11, 1924 at Pilot Mountain, NC to William David and Martha Arvilla Cooke Taylor. She graduated from Pilot Mountain High School and attended business school. She began her career at the Samet Group in High Point. She later went on to serve as controller at Charlotte Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlotte, where she spent
the remainder of her career.
In 1983 she and her husband Maxwell “Bud” Goldsmith retired to Ocean Isle Beach where she was very involved in volunteering. She served on the OIB Beautification Committee, was a board member at Hope Harbor, volunteered at the Museum of Coastal Carolina and spent many days collecting food for the needy at local grocery stores. In 2001 Gladys moved to the Woodsong community in Shallotte where she lived until 2016. She enjoyed
cooking, reading, entertaining and doing her daily cross word puzzles.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Marshall, Glenn and Vance and three sisters, Bea, Clarice and Jane.
She is survived by a sister, Christine Wall and husband Robert of Apex; and many nephews, nieces, grands and great-grands.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Retirement Center for the loving care they have given over the past year.
Per Gladys’ request, there will be no service.
