George Robert “Bobby” Gray, Jr., 71, of Siler City, passed away on Friday,
June 8, 2018 at his home.
A funeral service was
held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, 212
West Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty with Rev. Eugene
Dean officiating. Burial followed in Holly Springs Friends Meeting Cemetery.
The family received friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty.
Bobby was the son of the late George Robert, Sr. and Lela Mae McBride Gray, and was also preceded in death by his brother, William Henry Gray.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Flowers (Jim); brother, James Ronald Gray; and sister-in-law, caregiver and friend, Marie Gray. Although he never had children, Bobby helped to raise his brother’s children as his own and leaves behind a special niece, Cathy Gray (Kevin), and four special nephews, Douglas Gray (Sharon), William Gray, Jr. (Robin), Loren Gray (Roxey), Robert Gray (Dee) and great-nephew, Joseph Gray and many other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7027 Albert Pick Road, Greensboro, NC 27409.
