Ernest Lee Langley, Jr., 85, of Siler City passed away peacefully Friday, August 10, 2018 at Siler City Center.
Mr. Langley was born in Pitt County on September 15, 1932 the son of Ernest Lee and Emma Christine (Harrell) Langley.  Ernest was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church.  He was a proud employee of the former Chatham Animal Hospital, currently Tysor’s Veterinary Clinic, with more than 45 years of service.
Ernest enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his beloved great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janie (Fulford) Langley; daughter, Terry L. Liles and husband Edward of Siler City, NC; son, Dr. Ricky L. Langley and wife Sandra of Mebane; grandchildren, Amber Liles Norman and husband Jason, Katie Liles McBroom and husband Antonio, Caroline Liles Hudson and husband Chase, Megan Langley Walker and husband Kyle, Air Force Major Patrick Langley and wife Lauren, Nicholas Langley; great-grandchildren, Nia, Nox, Merritt, Livie, Liles, Jacob and Ella; brothers, Floyd Langley and wife Doris of Jacksonville, NC, David Langley and wife Jane of Falkland, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Monday, August 13, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City, NC.  The funeral followed at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Folks officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. James Davis, Liberty Hospice Caregivers, personal aide, Ponda Alston and Pastor Jim Folks and wife Rose.  Ernest was blessed in his life with true friends, good neighbors and a wonderful family.
