ERNEST DWIGHT “IKE” MILHOLEN

Ernest Dwight “Ike” Milholen of Little River, SC, formerly of Siler City, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Grand Strand Hospital, Myrtle Beach, SC.
Ike was born in Rowan County, NC on June 6, 1944 the son of Thomas L and Myrtle Eddleman Milholen.  Ike served his country with 4 years in the United States Navy.  In his early career, he was founder of the Hickory Mountain Golf Course in Chatham Country, NC.  He was a founding partner and President of Basic Metal Products, Inc.  in Siler City, NC for many years before becoming a General Contractor in North Carolina and South Carolina.  At the time of his death he was still active in the construction industry in the Myrtle Beach and Horry County area.
Ike was an avid golfer who will be missed by his many golfing buddies and especially by local friend Roy Hunter, his long time high school friend, Jake Hart and his brother Bill.  He loves spending time with his family and friends and two dogs, Roxie and Jax.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brothers, James, Clinton, Tommy, Harold and his sister Inez Milholen.
Ike is survived by his wife, Sheri Slagle Milholen; daughter Melissa Hockaday (Rodney) of Raleigh, NC and son Ernie Milholen (Marcia) of Wilmington, NC and beloved grandchildren Jordan and Aleigh Hockaday, Zoe and Mia Milholen;  his sister Mable M. Miller (Walter) of Matthews, NC and brother, William F. Milholen (Sallie) of Siler City, NC.
The family received friends Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Little River, SC.  A memorial service followed at 2:00 pm.
