Edgar “Leroy” Oldham, 90, died Thursday, (05-31-2018) in Sanford.
The funeral was held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, (06-03-2018) at Cool Springs Baptist Church with burial following.
Leroy was born in Chatham County on November 21, 1927, to Richard and Lottie Oldham. After graduating from Goldston School, he worked in construction before enlisting in the Air Force. He later worked for Life of Virginia, selling insurance for over forty years. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Sanford, where he was treasurer for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jean; his parents and siblings Norman, Elbert, and Lataine Oldham.
Leroy is survived by his son, Greg of Sanford; two grandchildren; sister, Edna Murray of Winston-Salem, and brother Gilbert of Siler City.
