Douglas J. Ellis, 61, of Cameron, died Thursday, November 19, 2020, at his home.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
He was born in Durham County on November 2, 1959, to the late Mallie Joseph Ellis Jr. and Shirley Vaughn Ellis. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Louis Carden Ellis, and grandfather MJ Ellis Sr. He was the owner and operator of Ellis Towing.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Ellis of the home; step-children, Jenny Jenkins of Cameron, Dale Herndon of Richmond, Virginia, Bobby Herndon of Diamondhead, Mississippi; six grandchildren; and a brother, MJ “Joey” Ellis III of Cameron.
