Della M. Gilliland Smith passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Clapp’s Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden.
The graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020, at Rehobeth UMC in Ramseur with the Rev. Scott Faw officiating.
Mrs. Smith was born in Randolph County on March 14, 1931, to Rufus King and Missouri Gilliland. She graduated from Bennett High School. She worked as a child nutrition specialist at the Henry Siler School and then Siler City Elementary, where she retired.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn R. Smith of Kernersville, Wayne Smith of Siler City; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
