David Lee McDuffie, 74, of Sanford passed away Tuesday, (10-02-2018) at his home. A funeral service was held on Friday, (10-05-2018) at 2 p.m. at Buckhorn U.M.C. in Moncure with the Rev. David Linebeck, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Mr. McDuffie was born November 13, 1943 in Lee County to the late Walter Bobbitt McDuffie and Edith Elizabeth Bullard McDuffie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Gillis McDuffie and his brother, Bobby Gene McDuffie. He retired from Sherron Harris Nuclear Power Plant. He was a member of the United States Army. Survivors include a daughter, Amy L. McDuffie of Sanford; a sister, JoAnn McDuffie Massei of Greensboro; and four grandchildren.
