Clayborn Wenford McCauley, 80, of Fuquay Varina, formerly of Mamers, died Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at the William M. Dunlap Transitions LifeCare Center in Raleigh.
A graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Broadway, with Rev. Rick Carter officiating.
He was born in Harnett County on May 11, 1940, son of the late Ernest Clayton McCauley and Nettie Elizabeth (Lizzie) McNeill McCauley. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jim McCauley, Bob McCauley, Don McCauley and Fred McCauley. A graduate of Boone Trail High School, he worked at and retired from Sanford Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
Surviving are his sons, Terry of Fuquay Varina and Clay of Wallace; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Troy McCauley of Belmont, Dougald McCauley of Lillington; sisters, Betty Jean McCauley Williams and Linda McCauley Cummings, both of of Sanford.
