SILER CITY — Charter Furniture, a furniture manufacturing company owned by Brown Jordan, has expanded its operations into a new facility in Siler City that will add 101 jobs.

The expansion includes a $1.5 million investment in a new facility, in addition to the purchase of the building.

Charter Furniture expanded from its facility in Liberty, where operations will be maintained. The expansion and larger facility will allow Charter to better serve its clients by safely producing, storing and shipping products as needed and meeting their schedules.

Charter Furniture is well known in the hospitality industry for producing high-design and high-performance seating. Notable clients of the company include Hilton, Marriott and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

The Chatham EDC worked closely with Charter Furniture officials to facilitate the expansion and welcome the company to Chatham County.

“We’re very excited to have Charter Furniture in Chatham County with its new location in Siler City,” EDC Project Manager Sam Rauf said. “They are a top-notch company that is excited to be a part of the local community. We look forward to having them here and witnessing their continued success and growth.”

The new facility is 260,000 square feet and located off of Industrial Park Road. To learn more about Charter Furniture, go to www.charterfurniture.com.
