Carson Murphy Rogers, Sr., 88, of Eli Whitney passed away at his residence on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 12:16 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Bunn Wade Rogers and the late Annie Thomas Rogers. He was a logger, a cattle farmer, a fireman with the Eli Whitney Fire Department and a member of Concord United Methodist Church.
Carson is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Poe and husband Larry of Siler City, Rita Williams and husband Eugene of Snow Camp, Kathy Younger of Graham and Rose Daniels and husband Chuck of Graham; one daughter-in-law, Deborah C. Rogers of Eli Whitney; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Carson M. “Doc” Rogers, Jr. and one son-in-law, Randy Younger.
The funeral service was conducted at Concord United Methodist Church on Monday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Keith Porter and Rev. Jeanne Neal. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
The family received friends in the church fellowship hall following the committal service. Other times, they were at the residence of his daughter-in-law, Deborah C. Rogers.
