Adelaide Blair Farmer, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
A 2 p.m. memorial service was held at Christ United Methodist Church Monday, June 11, 2018. The family received friends after the service at the church.
Adelaide was born July 15, 1931 in Chatham County, NC to the late George Walker Blair, Sr. and Audrey Womble Blair. She graduated from Peace College in Raleigh and attended Woman’s College in Greensboro. She worked at Burlington Industries for several years before starting a family. She was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church and served many summers during Bible school. Everyone loved her wonderful chocolate pies and she brought joy to many in her readings of “Miss Fannie’s Hat.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Farmer, as well as a sister, Elizabeth Blair Burgess, and two brothers, Henry Kime Blair, Sr., and George Walker Blair, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters, Audrey Baldwin (Brian), and Claudia Matthews (Kevin), as well as grandchildren, Zachary Baldwin, Morgan Garrett (Tyler), and Olivia Matthews. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
